Eating Disorders are very common for teen girls. So, this page is specifically for teen girls.

If you have an eating disorder, it's easy for you to think that the key to being happy is being thin. The feeling of being able to control what you eat, may help you feel like you can control your life. Eating disorders are very common for teen girls because of pressure. The pressure to fit in, the pressure to have the body image of what boys want and even to the extent of being called fat. Being called fat, and being made fun of for eating can lead a girl to this point.
Cutting, while developing an eating disorder is not healthy at all ! To keep yourself from eating you cut. The more you starve yourself the more you cut.
Someone who tends to have a eating disorder is a perfectionist, has a low self esteem, and in some cases can suffer from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

Anorexia Symptoms (Appearance) ;
  • People with anorexia tend to loose a lot of weight in a short amount of time
  • Loss of coloring in face
  • Nails are brittle and break easily
  • Their skin tends to be very dry

Anorexia Symptoms (Behavior) ;
  • Complains of being fat
  • Weighs food or consistently counts calorie content
  • When asked, always says she ate or she isn't hungry but you haven't seen her eat all day
  • Hides foods in odd places so she doesn't have to eat it
  • Never stops moving or refuses to sit down (because you can easily burn calories this way)
  • Is always cold
  • Is constantly hard on herself for every little thing (usually after they eat)

Anorexia Symptoms (Medical) ;
  • May suffer from panic attacks
  • Has low blood pressure
  • Short breath
  • Could cause " Amenhhoreic " (loss her monthly period)
  • Could suffer from " Osteoporosis " (the bones become brittle and fragile)
